Due to data protection laws, we are unable to discuss any patient information with anyone but the patient, unless they have given us previous consent to discuss their information with a specified person.
We are aware that many relatives/carers call us regarding getting help for elderly relatives, neighbours or even husband and wives but without consent our reception and clinical team are unable to discuss their medical record with you.
If you frequently call up about someone else or if you wish to give consent to someone else, please ask our reception team for a consent form so this can be added to your/their notes to save any future issues. Being married or someone’s parent doesn’t automatically mean that you have consent. The age of consent is 16.
