Change in Law - Organ Donation Opt-Out
Soon your surgery will no longer process your organ donation wishes. The new "opt out" scheme starts in England sometime in the spring 2020.*
This means that unless you have already made your wishes clear, you will be presumed as consenting to organ donation after death.
For more information please follow the link https://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/
*There is no confirmed date of this law change at present.
Opting out of sharing your data (national data collection)
The NHS wants to make sure you and your family have the best care now and in the future. Your health and adult social care information supports your individual care. It also helps the NHS to research, plan and improve health and care services in England.
Unless you have chosen to opt out, your confidential patient information can be used for research and planning.
There is an online service which allows you to make or change your decision at any time. Please go to www.nhs.uk/your-nhs-data-matters to find out more and to set your choice on sharing your confidential health data.
Please note that the surgery cannot make this change for you. We may ask you about sharing your data with other organisations, however this is for different purposes directly relating to care that we are giving or organising on your behalf.
We are currently experiencing a very high number of incoming calls as we deal with booking flu vaccinations.
Please help us by calling later in the day to book your flu jab.
We are also capping our appointments call queue to 25. Patients have been reporting very long (45+) queues for the appointment line with patients waiting long times for calls to be answered. When the queue has reached 25 you will not be able to be held in the queue and will need to call back at a later time.
Please ensure that when calling the surgery you choose the appropriate line for your query. This is because the different lines are manned by staff appropriate to deal with queries on those lines, for instance our prescription clerk answers the prescription queries line, the secretaries answer the referrals line and receptionists answer the appointments line. Using the wrong line may mean that your query cannot be answered at that time and may take longer to resolve.
Falkland and Millwood Surgeries - Future Plans - UPDATED
Now we have merged and the staff and patients are settling down and becoming used to recent changes, we thought we would share with you some information on our future plans for our buildings.
Millwood Surgery - Progress has been delayed on our plans for extension of the Millwood Surgery building. We remain optimistic that our plan will go ahead and will update when we have news.
Falkland Surgery - There have been some questions asked about the future of Falkland Surgery. At the moment there are no plans to close this building. We will be reviewing our use and management of the building in the future and will always update patients via the website when we can.
If you have any questions around this or other issues with the practice, please email email@example.com. You can also use our feedback form.
Problems with website access
Some patients have reported issues when trying to access the practice website using the Millwood link. Here are some tips to help:
Most issues are found when using Internet Explorer. You could try another browser such as Chrome or Firefox.
The issue also seems to be more common when accessing the website from a websearch (i.e. when you have typed “Millwood Surgery” into a search page and used a link from there). Try typing www.millwoodsurgery.co.uk directly into the address bar at the top of your internet browser. Alternatively use the Falkland Surgery address (www.falklandsurgery.nhs.uk). Both of these will take you to the new Millwood Partnership site.
We realise that to read this you are at the website already, but please share this with friends and family who have reported problems.
Welcome to our new website!
We hope that you like the new website which now covers our who practice, including Millwood and Falkland surgeries.
We have tried to make the site as clear and easy to use as possible and welcome your feedback on what we can do to make your experience of the site better.
Please use our website feedback form to inform us of your views or to get in touch. For medical problems please contact the surgery in the usual way via reception.
